Completion of the Fourth Symphony in G major with soprano solo set to words from "Des Knaben Wunderhorn" (1900, first performance 1901 in Munich)
1. Slow and measured. Do not rush
2. At a leisurely pace. Without hurrying.
3. Peaceful and calm
4. Joyful and free ("Wir genießen die himmlischen Freuden", soprano solo)

Fifth Symphony in C minor (1902, first performance 1904 in Cologne)
1. Funeral march. At a measured pace. Strict tempo. Like a funeral procession.
2. Tempestuous. With great vehemence
3. Scherzo. Powerfully, not too fast
4. Adagietto. Very slow
5. Rondo finale. Allegro

Sixth Symphony in A minor (1904, first performance 1906 in Essen)
1. Allegro energico, ma non troppo
2. Scherzo. Energetically
3. Andante moderato
4. Finale. Allegro moderato

Seventh Symphony in E minor (1905, first performance 1908 in Prague)
1. Slow - Allegro risoluto, ma non troppo
2. Night - Allegro moderato
3. Scherzo - Shadowy. Flowing, but not fast
4. Night - Andante amoroso
5. Rondo finale. Allegro ordinario

Eighth Symphony in E flat major for 3 soprano and 2 alto solos, tenor, baritone and bass solos, boys´ choir, 2 mixed choirs and large orchestra (1906, first performance 1910 in Munich)
